The Final Degree Project is a mandatory subject that is taken in the fourth year and that the student must pass in order to obtain the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. It consists of an original work that the student, with the help of a tutor, must complete at the end of their degree and with which they must demonstrate that they have acquired the knowledge, skills and abilities provided for in the study plan.
Most Universities award between 6 and 12 ECTS for the Final Degree Project (TFG) to verify if the student achieves the general and specific competencies of the Degree in Nursing. The purpose is to introduce students to research as a method for searching for knowledge applied to the development and improvement of healthcare quality, motivating students’ interest in scientific production. The TFG provides applicability of the knowledge acquired throughout the degree, favoring a better correlation of said knowledge with clinical practice in different contexts of the healthcare environment. It helps the student know the importance of scientific methodology in their work environment, to respond to problems, support adaptation to techno-scientific advances, to help in decision-making and contribute to safe and quality assistance. considered main objectives of Nursing work.
It is nothing new to say that developing a good Final Degree Project is quite a challenge. It is always important to choose a topic that appeals to you, because doing this type of work takes a lot of time and effort. It is recommended that it not be a very broad or very specialized topic, that is, it is advisable that there be enough documents on that subject but not too many. Once you have chosen the topic, try to write questions that your work would help answer. Each university drafts a regulation with the rules to follow for carrying out this work.
