Databases are the most used by professionals to consult specific information on a specific topic. Furthermore, mostly through articles, professionals present their research results and they are published very quickly in addition to being reliable when going through review processes. They are a magnificent source of information, however we must consider that they are not the best resource for searching for very broad or basic information on a topic and they do not allow us to easily see the results of the same investigation since these are normally presented in a timely manner. in different articles perhaps published in different magazines.
Sometimes we forget to consult sources that, although difficult to consult, allow us to obtain very useful information. We are talking about doctoral theses, conference proceedings, books, reports and reports from public or private institutions and organizations, patents. It is very useful to know if there is a thesis that has studied the topic that interests me or if I am looking for data about an institution to know what may be on the web but also in printed reports or other documents that I can only find through the institution.
