Respiratory physiotherapy includes a series of exercises to re-educate the respiratory muscles and techniques aimed at making better use of lung capacity and facilitating the elimination of secretions accumulated in the respiratory tract, in order to achieve adequate ventilation.
Nursing Considerations:
-Explain the corresponding technique to the person in detail and clearly, taking as a fundamental goal that they understand its foundation and be able to perform it effectively by their own means.
-Assess respiratory function before and after each physical therapy session.
-Monitor vital signs throughout the procedure to detect possible complications, especially when it comes to the release of secretions.
-It must be controlled that the person does not use the accessory respiratory muscles when teaching the breathing exercises.
