Regular physical activity is good for all ages. Playing a sport, doing gymnastics or simply playing, walking, cycling or doing daily activities in an active way is convenient because:
-Helps you feel better, with more energy, relax, reduce stress, sleep better and tone muscles.
-Helps prevent and treat excess weight because it regulates appetite and increases the number of calories expended daily.
-Helps children relate to others and grow better, happier and healthier.
Performing physical activity on a regular basis means taking care of yourself, because the entire body benefits.
-Heart: Reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and high blood pressure.
-Arteries: Helps keep them flexible and healthy.
-Joints: Strengthens muscles and bones, and maintains joint function.
-Nervous system: Helps keep it in good shape.
In adults, at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity five or more days per week is recommended. Older people should include specific strength, flexibility and balance exercises.
Children and young people should do at least one hour of moderate physical activity every day.
